Retro was founded in 2017 with the intention of digitalizing historical tourism to make it more reliable.  Since the pandemic, that initiative has grown to an archival project that provides transparency in publicly stored data in the academic sector to ensure that the appropriate approach to sensitive data is handled by and researched by historians, thus providing a transparent and reliable alternative to generic and privately compiled historical research.
